2 poems || Keith Higginbotham

Picture on Him

wire memory—when promises
override as from strings

without flex of fingers: in
turning more light recording slips

heritage anger rain
through desert of posture

she the polonaise, clippings
candle; raises

jutting across caught marbles
handmade by even just faces

still never there
perhaps heritage face

airports polonaise polonaise
planes of; library hovering

this: an
everywhere page

Horse

tethers floor sanctuary
smile of the subtitles in whole
in;

the photo the letter as more as of when
evident in
echo there

if shrouded film unfolded wind
