poem || Jeff Harrison

Roil of Fire, Leap o'er False Dawn

explosive day like bed among silence,
you're a walking arbitrary midday perfumed
with bites, so come on and bite up, then.

Eden's at hand, and, like beds for teeth,
does it voice what standing elsewhere waves away?
does going seem to say "hours remain, fall"?

this day makes darkness a pleasant pilgrimage.
my creed could have lacked a want of fire,
and passed on rolling the dawn into English.
